PAIA MANUAL

Prepared in terms of Section 51 of the Promotion of Access to Information Act, 2 of 2000 (“PAIA”)

1. Introduction

This Manual is published in accordance with the Promotion of Access to Information Act, 2 of 2000 (“PAIA”) to promote transparency and provide guidance on how requests for access to records held by Lesotho Wine may be made.

This Manual also addresses relevant requirements under the Protection of Personal Information Act, 4 of 2013 (“POPIA”).

Lesotho Wine complies with applicable laws relating to its operations, including but not limited to:

  • POPIA Addendum

These records are available on our website or upon request.

8. Request Procedure

A requester seeking access to records must:

  1. Submit a written request to the Information Officer;
  2. Provide sufficient detail to identify the requested record;
  3. Provide proof of identity where necessary;
  4. Indicate the preferred form of access.

9. Grounds for Refusal of Access

Access to records may be refused in accordance with PAIA where:

  • Disclosure would involve unreasonable disclosure of personal information;
  • Disclosure would reveal confidential commercial information;
  • Records are legally privileged;
  • Disclosure could compromise security or legal proceedings;
  • Requests are manifestly frivolous or burdensome.

10. Processing of Personal Information

Lesotho Wine processes personal information in accordance with POPIA and its Privacy Policy.
